LX radiation resistant loose tube cable

Features

  • Number of optical fibers: max. 144.
  • Option: steel armor layer, rodent protection.
  • Chemical resistance:
    • with lubricating oils (MIL-L-23699)
    • with hydraulic oils (MIL-H-5606)
    • with deionized water
    • with gasoline
    resistant to.
  • PVC application is minimal (according to NRC Regulatory Giude 1.189 “Fire Protection for Operating Nuclear Power Plants”).
  • NEC (National Electrical Code) OFNG-LS classification.
  • NEC OFCG-LS rating for steel armored option.
  • Cables with steel armor must be earthed at both ends, they must not be routed in a common tray or duct with power cables.

Applications

LX cables are optical cables for data transmission purposes used in industry, research laboratories, outdoor and indoor, field (ground, air, water) systems. They are used especially in areas exposed to nuclear radiation (energy industry), in extreme environments, with high safety requirements (along railway tracks, airport systems, tunnels, mining, shipping).

  • Outer jacket: thermosetting, UV-resistant, smoke and halogen free (LSZH, Low Smoke Zero Halogen), material: XLPO (Cross Linked PolyOlefin).
  • Gel-filled strand tube: provides the best protection against water to protect optical fibers.
  • Middle member: Fiber Reinforced Plastic (FRP), tensile element.
  • Compressive force: 440 kg / cm.
  • Compressive force: 550 N / cm (with steel armor).
  • Outer mantle melting point (XLPO): 200 ° C.
  • Operating temperature:     -20 C ° / +70 C °.
  • Storage temperature:         -50 C ° / +75 C °.
  • Installation temperature:    -20 C ° / +60 C °.
