BE radiation resistant breakout cable
Features
- Number of optical fibers: max. 24.
- Resistant to mechanical loads (cyclic bending, tensile, compressive loads).
- The materials used are PVC-free in accordance with NRC Regulatory Giude 1.189 “Fire Protection for Operating Nuclear Power Plants” (no hazardous gas / acid is generated in case of fire, low smoke generation).
- NEC (National Electrical Code) OFNG-LS classification.
- Internal cables: the fibers are housed in a separate 2.4 mm diameter sheath, this structure provides increased mechanical protection and strength.
- Aramid fibers between the inner cables and the outer sheath to further increase the mechanical strength.
Applications
BE cables are optical cables used in industry and indoor systems for data transmission purposes. Breakout cables used especially in spaces exposed to nuclear radiation (energy industry), in extreme conditions, for high safety requirements (nuclear power plants, cable trays, tunnels, industrial environments, between building levels).
- Outer sheath: extruded, smoke and halogen free (LSZH, Low Smoke Zero Halogen), fiber reinforced polyethylene (FR-PE, Fiber Reinforced PolyEthylene).
- Inner cable sheath: Fiber Reinforced PolyEthylene (FR-PE).
- Middle member: Fiber Reinforced Plastic (FRP) tensile element.
- Meets the following requirements:
- ANSI/ICEA S-83-596 (Premises);
- Telcordia GR-409 (General Purpose, Horizontal Backbone Cable);
- Telcordia GR-409 interconnect requirements (internal cables).
Operating Temperature: -20 C° / +70 C°.
Storage temperature: -40 C° / +70 C°.
Installation temperature: -10 C° / +70 C°.
Compressive strength: 2200 N/cm (EIA-455-41A)
